The 2015 has an open nose with brambly red fruit, undergrowth and just a touch of wild mushroom. This has fine delineation, though it's not complex. The palate is medium-bodied with rather dry tannins, modest depth and a slight metallic reduction on the finish, but it should dissipate with time. The 2015 La Dame de Montrose has an attractive bouquet of well defined brambly red fruit, orange peel and rose petal, quite bullish and generous in style. The palate is medium-bodied with lighter tannin than expected, moderate depth, a fine bead of acidity yet slightly lactic toward the finish that steps down a few gears. Fine, but could be better. Tasted blind. Very dark crimson. Relatively evolved on the nose. Slightly simple fruit dominates the dusty tannins. (JR)

Ch. Montrose is one of two Second Growths from Saint-Estèphe and one of the most consistent producers in Bordeaux. The wines from this property are both elegant and powerful, and some of the Médoc's most age-worthy .
