Score 86/100 · Drink 2018-2022, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2018

The 2015 Chevalier de Lascombes comes across as very ripe, with quite a bit of oak influence that also introduces an element of slight oxidation. I would prefer to drink the 2015 sooner rather than later, while the inky fruit retains at least some freshness. Leather, smoke and licorice are laced into the finish. The Chevalier is 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot.

Very dark. Not much nose except for a little wood shaving! Unusually sweet start (lots of Merlot?). Then a little drying on the end. Not the most complete and balanced 2015. Though there is some drama. (JR)

The 2015 Chevalier de Lascombes is a delicious second wine from Lascombes. Forward and fruit-driven in style, the 2015 is best enjoyed over the next few years, while the fruit retains its juiciness. Today, the oak is a bit overpowering, but otherwise, this is a solid wine.
