The 2015 Bernadotte shoots above my expectation. It has a clean and fresh bouquet with plenty of appealing graphite notes. The palate is medium-bodied with dusky black fruit sprinkled with black pepper, good length and nicely focused. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting.

52% Merlot, 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Petit Verdot. 33% new, 33% second-use, 33% third-use oak for 14 months. Mid dark crimson. Sweet and fresh on the nose. Unformed but very pretty. Fresh with quite a bit of tannin in evidence. (JR)

Tasted blind. Warm, ripe and curranty. A tad too sweet and alcoholic but a good effort at this quality level. Hot on the end and green beforehand. (JR)
