The 2015 Cuvée Prestige from Barrabaque is a solid Canon-Fronsac with good overall depth in its dark red fruit. At this stage, the tannins are a bit rough around the edges, but this is otherwise a solid effort. The blend is mostly Merlot, with some Cabernet Franc and Malbec.
The 2015 Château Barrabaque Cuvée Prestige had a rather disjointed, stilted bouquet without the aromatic charm of its peers. The palate is sweet and ripe on the entry with grainy tannins, masculine and structured with a tobacco-tinged finish that feels a little too serious at the moment. More fruit and this would be a much better wine, but at the moment it feels a little "pushed" in the winery.
