Spitting with vibrant citrus fruit and floral fragrance. Tight, linear, precise. Lots of potential here – bound to improve. (RH)

The 2014 Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume, which spent nine months in stainless steel, has a pleasing, cold stone, granitic, slightly smoky bouquet that is well defined and gains vigor in the glass. The palate is fresh on the entry with freshly squeezed lime, gooseberry and citrus peel, the acidity well judged and lending tension and vigor on the finish. This is a well-crafted Fourchaume, although I do think that another few months in vat would have improved it further.
