Tasting notes
The 2014 Moulin-Rouge has a potent bouquet with ample blackberry and wild strawberry scents, plenty of violet and boysenberry jam aromas developing with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with sweet, saturated tannin. The acidity is well judged and there is plenty of sinew here. There is some dryness on the tobacco-driven finish but I think there is sufficient fruit to pull this through. Let's see how this ages. Tasted September 2016.

50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc. 12 months in barrel. Deep crimson with black core. Spicy, intense cassis aroma. Intense on the palate but a little bit hard overall – there's plenty of fruit but the texture is a bit tough. Might come round. (JH)
