Score 88/100 · Drink 2016-2021, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2016
Moderately saturated medium red. Aromas of small wild red fruits, smoke and underbrush, plus a whiff of leathery funk. Ripe, supple and layered but classically dry; plumper and richer than the 2014 but lifted by calcaire energy. Finishes with palate-saturating dusty tannins and harmonious acidity. Balanced to give early pleasure.

About the producer

Domaine Duroche
Domaine Duroché has, under Pierre Duroché, become one of the most sought-out and respected wine domaines in Gevrey-Chambertin. The wines are delicate and detailed, yet with old-vine intensity, a clear sense of place and style – and it’s easy to see why they’ve rapidly become so in-demand.
