(Méo's village Nuits is now a négociant bottling, as he is replanting his domain vineyard): Healthy dark red. An inviting basket of red fruits on the nose, accented by a licorice note. Juicy and firm on the palate, showing a faint acid streak. Has good sappiness but the firm tannins are a touch tough.

The 2014 Nuits St Georges Villages used to be the domaine bottling until Jean-Nicolas decided to commence uprooting the parcel and felt he needed to augment the remaining vines with other fruit, which he confessed he has found difficult. The nose is perfumed and floral, nicely defined with a touch of undergrowth coming through. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly dry tannin, strict and linear, and perhaps needing some more length on the finish. This is a pretty Village Cru that will drink nicely over 5-6 years.
