Ripe yellow fruits complemented by smoky minerality on the nose. At once rich and taut in the mouth, showing strong mineral and wet stone character but also a glyceral thickness. Doesn't appear to possess quite the material of the Meix Chavaux but then this very long wine is less open to inspection today.

The 2014 Meursault les Luchets has a very reserved nose, moody and more primal than its peers. The palate is medium-bodied and very well balanced, but it has yet to develop or find its personality unlike the more expressive Les Virieuls. There is certainly nice salinity here, but I'd like to see something more down the line...a little more chutzpah perhaps.
50% hailed so 25-30 hl/ha. He has more than 1 ha; his biggest holding. Only four owners here. Restrained with a hint of ginger. Broad and a bit smudgy. Blossomy. (JR)
