Attractive aromas of sweet raspberry, cherry and currants with back notes of tangerine and orange peel. Very tightly packed red and orange fruit on the palate with searing acidity and fine-grained tannins. Lots going on in this wine but needs some time to settle.Dec 2015

Bright medium red with a touch of amber. Lower-pitched but more expressive on the nose than the Clos Saint-Denis, conveying a strong cinnamon spiciness to the aromas of redcurrant and dried flowers. Then broader and more open-knit in the mouth too, but without the clarity of fruit or primary lift of that CSD. The tannins are a bit dusty but are nicely supported by the wine's mid-palate texture. Still, I find this a touch dry. Incidentally, these vines were replanted in 1955 while the Clos Saint-Denis holding was planted in 1930 and 1955.
Particularly pale ruby. Rather winning and subtle. Real grunt and lift. Not heavy, not concentrated but very much of our time. Lovely freshness. (JR)

Domaine Georges Lignier has a long history stretching back to the 20th century. Georges – a cousin to Hubert Lignier – set out to establish the finest and most important domaine in Morey-Saint-Denis.
