Score 89/100 · Drink 2016-2020, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Dec 2015

From 20-year-old vines on loess and shell limestone soils, the dark colored 2012 Spätburgunder Malterdinger offers intense and spicy/earthy flavored fruit aromas along with slightly flinty and floral flavors. Very delicate on the palate, this silky textured, highly elegant and full-bodied wine shows a stimulating freshness and finesse, and is an excellent table wine with a good length.
