Tasting notes
Refined, savoury dark fruit, becoming more fragrant in the glass. Elegant and embryonic on the palate, with a very fine dry texture. Dark cherry in a light restrained style. It would be hard to make a wine with such restraint anywhere but Burgundy, but there's length here and promise, even if I would not call it great value for money. (JH)

(100% destemmed; in a one-year-old barrel): Medium red. Sappy aromas of red berries and dried rose. Juicy and suave in the mouth, boasting terrific definition to the flavors of red berries, flowers and pungent minerals. Wonderfully supple, perfumed Clos de Bèze with outstanding lingering perfume. This was vinified in the grower's cellar, with Pascal Marchand's instructions. Stunning potential.
