Tasting notes
Served from magnum, Hébrart's 2010 Special Club Premier Cru Brut is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir from Mareuil-sur-Aÿ and 40% Chardonnay from Oiry and Chouilly, all old vines. The wine opens with bright and very clear fruit aromas (peaches), whereas the well-structured palate is complex and expressive but needs some years to develop more vinosity. This wine should be out of the markets, but it's worth a try in restaurants (especially from magnum) since it is a really excellent effort from a difficult vintage when 30% of the grapes had to be cut to the floor due to rot. The vintages 2011, 2012 and 2013 are still available, but I haven't tasted them so far. Disgorged in September 2014 with a dosage of six grams per liter. Total production: 9,000 to 10,000 bottles and 1,200 magnums.
