2013 Nairac

Tasted blind. Spicy citrus. A bit of sulphur on the nose. Not very intense but fresh on the finish. A bit sour overall. Long though. (JH)

The 2013 Nairac is quite floral and lifted in the glass. Flowers, white orchard fruit and lime all take shape in a pretty, gracious Sauternes. The style is soft, feminine and understated. Readers who appreciate the more reserved side of Sauternes will find much to admire.

Harvested from September 26 until October 11, Nicolas Tari elected not to blend in the final lots of into his blend, but after trial blends he decided to keep just the two tries in order to maintain a more elegant style. As such, it has a zippy, light but focused bouquet with citrus peel and white flowers. The palate is vibrant in the mouth with quite penetrating acidity that combines well with those unfettered citrus notes threaded from start to finish. Very fine.
