Sexy, expressive scents of peach, mandarin orange and clove. Enters the mouth with a creamy sweetness, then seamless and firm in the middle, showing captivating lemony lift and precision. Finishes classically dry, floral and long, with terrific mineral thrust that Boillot says is the signature of 2014. Boillot suggests waiting eight years on this beauty but I doubt I could have that kind of patience.

(the yield here was just 30 hectoliters per hectare, says Boillot): Bright yellow. Sexy if delicate aromas and flavors of mandarin orange, white flowers and hazelnut. Densely packed and tactile but quite dry and light on its feet. Concentrated, impeccably balanced wine, with the alluring white flowers carrying through on the very long, salty finish. The yields were very low in the Puligny premier crus in 2014, as they were in '13, said Boillot, with the hillside vineyards hardest hit by hail. He added: "The high Meursault vineyards were also hit by hail but here we lost more crop from hydric stress."
