Score 18.5/20 · Drink 1980-2010, Jancis Robinson MW, Sep 2014
Served in isolation, this would probably have bedazzled but it was just slightly outshone by the more youthful and fuller 1964. The nose was redolent of violets but suggested the wine might be a little tarter than the 1964. Fragile and this bottle was obviously ageing. Just a little fragile but utterly admirable . (JR)
