Tasting notes
The Nuits-Saint-Georges is one of the more expressive village wines today, although it, too, has plenty of underlying tannin. The flavors are bright, punchy and precise throughout. Red cherry, cranberry, crushed rocks and mint are some of the many notes that take shape in a wonderuflly expressive, noble Nuits St. Georges from Lécheneaut. The 2013 will be even better with more bottle age, but its potential is quite evident, even at this early stage.

A blast of blue/black tinged fruit, smoke, tobacco, licorice and incense hits the palate as the 2012 Nuits-Saint-Georges opens up in the glass. Vibrant and total focus are two of the principal signatures. Graphite, violets and mineral notes develop over time, adding layers of complexity. Power and minerality fuse together on the structured, enveloping finish, suggesting readers will need to be patient here.
