Tasted blind at the annual “Burgfest” tasting in Bouilland. The 2013 Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru la Truffière has a very composed and refined bouquet, laden with attractive cold stone/wet limestone scents that gain intensity with aeration. The palate is well balanced with vibrant acidity, plenty of red apple, citrus lemon and stony notes, class and sophistication on the finish. Très Puligny ... and that's what we want. Tasted May 2016.

Pale, bright yellow. Musky, complex aromas of white peach, flowers and flint. Wonderfully sweet but tight, with bracing acidity keeping the wine's fruit under wraps today. In a distinctly linear style, with noteworthy precision and energy, but youthfully strict today, finishing with a tannic edge. This discreet but highly concentrated wine needs time.
Bright, pale yellow. White peach, lemon and minerals on the nose. Juicy, tight and brisk, showing very good intensity but little easy sweetness to the lemon and mineral flavors. Classy wine in the making but on the lean side today and a bit hardened by some unabsorbed CO2.
