Tasting notes
The 2014 Lamothe-Guignard seems to have some SO2 issues on the nose that is impossible to read. The palate is better with light honey, toffee apple and saline notes but it tapers quite dramatically towards the uninspiring finish. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.

Tasted blind. Deep gold. Broad and savoury with real punch and edge. Lots of confidence and density. Dry, appetising finish. (JR)
The Château Lamothe-Guignard 2014 is just a little muffled on the nose at the moment, perhaps because of some SO2. The palate is fresh on the entry with crisp acidity, a little straight-laced perhaps and it needs to develop more depth on the finish.
Lift on the nose and rather heavy sweetness on the palate. Could do with a little more freshness on the palate though it’s a style that will stand up to lots of sweet foods. Rather severe finish. (JR)
