There is a depth to the perfume here. Very clear and focussed. Very inviting: you could sniff on this for hours. Very, very precise in the mouth. Cool. And then the power comes in like an arrow. All here and very good. Lifted and precise with a polished, pure finish. Very very good. Joss Fowler, FINE+RARE, April 2015.

The 2014 Château La Conseillante offers notes of iron, dark chocolate, roasted herbs, and graphite, with a touch of mint emerging with air. Medium-bodied and nicely balanced, it has juicy acidity and fine tannins but remains somewhat straightforward. It's best enjoyed over the coming 10-12 years.

The 2014 La Conseillante has a wonderful bouquet with wild strawberry, cranberry, wilted rose petal, salted licorice and violet-like aromas. As I wrote previously, it gains intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with finely chiseled tannins and a keen line of acidity, the new oak now entirely subsumed with a precise and reasonably persistent finish. Tasted at Bordeaux Index's 10-Year-On tasting.

Tasted blind. Unusually sweet-fruited on the nose. A bit volatile and jammy. Rather hard on the palate, the tannins thick in texture, though there’s plenty of freshness. (JH)
