46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot. Some greenness evident, giving a vegetal edge to the intense dark fruit on the palate. Firmly structured, with powdery tannin and full body. (RH)

The 2014 Fourcas-Dupré has a composed, tightly wound bouquet at first with touches of black truffle and leather merging with ample black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp acidity and a poised, sappy finish. This comes across as a very natural and unprepossessing, approachable Listrac that should drink well over the next decade. Tasted twice with consistent notes.

Good fruit definition – refreshing and savoury with a lightness of touch and decent persistence. Fairly humble in the grand scheme of things but very lovely as a classic claret that is ready to drink. (RH)

67% Sauvignon Blanc, 33% Sémillon. Aged for around six months in French oak of which 70% is new. Beautiful concentration on the nose – citric with a natural yoghurt flavour plus delicious allspice scent. Crunchy acid, smooth and plump with great length. Very accomplished and ageworthy. (RH)
