A very pretty and refined red with dark berries, violets, eucalyptus and currants. Medium to full body, fine tannins and a beautiful finish. Drink after 2020.
Dark crimson. Sweet and polished with some oak in evidence. Very sweet start and just not over the top. Well bought! This should satisfy many palates for its voluptuousness. Chapeau, Messrs Thunevin and Rolland! Pretty alcoholic but fun. (JR)
The 2014 Croix de Labrie has a clean and pure raspberry and wild strawberry scented bouquet that oddly reminded me of a Pinot Noir! The palate is medium-bodied with svelte tannin, crisp acidity, silky to the touch with a lovely black cherry and cassis finish that retains freshness and tension. This is a delicious, well-crafted and quite sophisticated Saint Emilion to relish for a decade, possibly more.
