Tasting notes
The 2002 Extra Brut is an assemblage of 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay that was aged under cork and disgorged in July 2015 with three grams of dosage. There are bright and lovely matured fruit aromas on the nose, with a touch of caramel and honey. This is a rich, but pure, elegant and finesse-full Champagne with a lingering salinity and great tension. Lovely, complex and winey. This should be great with food.

The 2002 Extra Brut is powerful, incisive and intense from the outset. Hints of orange peel, dried flowers and honey struggle to develop, but the 2002 is both mature and compact. Some readers may find more pleasure, but I just don't see the radiance and power of the year here. My impression is that the 2002 will mature before It ever comes together.
