Bright red. Penetrating aromas of raspberry, cranberry, minerals and flowers. Juicy and precise, conveying terrific lift to the primary flavors of raspberry, black pepper, spices and saline minerality. Tactile and strong for village wine, showing excellent spicy length.

The 2013 Chambolle-Musigny has a generous red cherry and bergamot-scented bouquet, a touch of orange zest developing with time in the glass. The palate is very well balanced with fine tannin, quite approachable in a strange way thanks to the harmony and refinement expressed towards the finish. This is very elegant and should give 10-12 years of pleasure, possibly more.

Bright medium red. Small wild red and darker berries and licorice on the tangy nose. Juicy and alive in the mouth, with black cherry and dark raspberry flavors accented by violet, mint and licorice. In a slightly lean style, with a cool note of black pepper indicating moderate ripeness. This should expand with time in bottle.

Quite deep crimson because the skin ripeness was so great in 2013 – not that they have started to extract more. Very pure and directed – intense for a village wine but with great energy and very ripe fruit. Lively leathery finish. Unusually ripe fruit. Very long. A very distinctive village wine! Amazing to think that this is only 12.4%. Massive impact. (JR)
