Score 91/100 · Drink 2019-2029, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2016
(Drouhin has a single supplier of Clos de la Roche): Moderately saturated medium red. Complex aromas of red cherry, brown spices, dried rose and red licorice. Fine-grained, pliant wine with considerable early appeal to its perfumed flavors of red berries, flowers and cumin. Savory, floral, seemingly gently extracted wine with lovely subtle depth and perfume. Not a powerful style but boasts sneaky length and saline minerality. I like this.
