Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2012 Garden Gully Syrah offers warm blackberry and crushed blueberry aromas with touches of vanilla, toast, chocolate and dried Provencal herbs. Medium-bodied with beautifully concentrated black fruit and spice notes, it is supported by medium-firm, velvety tannins and lively acid before finishing with great length. Drink it now to 2021+. Dark purple. An exotically perfumed bouquet displays scents of candied black and blue fruits, olive, sandalwood and peppery spices. Juicy, penetrating blueberry and bitter cherry flavors are given depth by notes of licorice and espresso, with a floral nuance sneaking up with aeration. Finishes taut, spicy and very long, with lovely clarity and fine-grained tannins.
