Tasting notes
Castiglione Falletto. Lustrous ruby with the beginning of orange tinges. Proper Nebbiolo nose with perfumed cherry fruit. Supple fruit that is richly tannic and with good acidity. Powerful tannins that never dominate the fruit. Lovely tang on the finish. (WS)

With fruit from Castiglione Falletto, the 2011 Barolo Parussi is an epic wine with thick layers of dark fruit, spice and pressed rose. This expression is absolutely irresistible in terms of its generosity, overall intensity and silky smoothness. It presents a more immediate style with soft lines and a generous, fruity texture. Massolino has produced an impressive line of new releases.
The 2011 Barolo Parussi shows more distinct signatures of the warm, precocious vintage in this Castiglione Falletto site rich in sandy soil. Immediate and juicy in style, the Parussi possesses lovely depth and nuance, along with soft contours and a pretty straightforward personality.
The 2011 Barolo Parussi, from a site in Castiglione Falletto is the wine most marked by the personality of the year. Tobacco, sweet herbs, leather, mint and pine blossom in the glass as this surprisingly voluptuous, intense Barolo opens up. In this vintage, the 2011 is unusually big. In that sense, terroir characteristics are a bit distorted. Taken on its own, though, the 2011 Parussi is quite pretty.
