Tasting notes
Upon its release, the 2011 Barbaresco Casot showed very ripe aromas of strawberry confit and blackberry preserves. This is an easy-drinking Nebbiolo with relatively soft tannins and a very fruit-forward style. There is a spot of sweetness on the close. The wine ages in tonneaux for two years. Some 8,000 bottles were made.

Treiso. Just mid ruby with watery orange rim. Stalky nose hinting at mulch. Touch of leather and a little singed. Grainy tannins framing just enough fruit on the palate. Not without merit but quite rustic and not that impressive for Riserva. (WS)
Treiso. Palish ruby with broad orangey rim. Lots of perfumed fruit with big matching tannins. Barolo-like constitution. (WS)
