We can easily overlook the narcissism of making tributes to your own past bottlings as John Glaser turns whisky resurrectionist in homage to Eleuthera. Layered, complex, thought provoking, and finely tuned for the connoisseur.

Nose: there are gristy, vanilla notes... but these cower as the peat begins to grasp hold of the situation and ushers in the spice. Taste: sensuously soft, sweet and oily: a little gristiness returns but the spices are prominent; a think layer of ulmo honey breaks free of the smoke. Finish: an elegant finish allowing all parties an even say. Vanilla and caramel naturally complete the tale, though not before high class marzipan makes its welcome mark. The smoke lingers contentedly and without threat. Balance: I may be wrong, but I have a feeling that hen the nose and flavour profile was being constructed, a little extra smoke than first planned was added. seems that way by the manner in which the phenols just pip up a little louder than it first seems... 46%
