Tasting notes
If I were to compare the 2011 Barbarescos against the 2012s, I'd prefer the dark exuberance and intensity of 2011. The 2011 Barbaresco Asili offers a united front of dark fruit aromas with spice, plum and smoke at the edges. Despite the large-scale intensity of the bouquet, this wine is elegantly streamlined and tight in the mouth.

The 2011 Barbaresco Asili captures the pedigree of this great site. Freshly cut flowers, sweet red berries, mint and cinnamon all resonate in an impeccable, silky Barbaresco loaded with class. A translucent, crystalline wine, the 2011 impresses for its balance and overall harmony. What a gorgeous wine this is.
Barbaresco. Concentrated youthful-looking ruby. Savoury and stalky, followed by camphor and sweet perfumed fruit. Ripe and almost jammy on the attack balancing out nicely the powdery tannins. Pretty much ready now. (WS)
