Medium yellow. Very ripe aromas of mandarin orange, lemon and nut oil, plus a slightly exotic suggestion of noble rot. Fat, round and sweet; quite silky for village wine. The orange note carries through to a serious, dry finish.

Open, very fruity, floral start and unusually open already. (JR)
The 2013 Puligny-Montrachet, which comes from three lieux-dits, has a simple, slightly tertiary bouquet. The palate is taut on the entry with bitter lemon and lime leading to a short but delineated, mango-tinged finish. Fine, if nothing exceptional.
(production here was 35 hectoliters per hectare, vs. 22 in 2012, according to Boillot): Bright light yellow. Peach, pear, orange zest and flowers on the nose. Fat, ripe, dry and classic, showing a lovely silky texture for a wine with serious extract. Should make a very strong village bottling with noteworthy balance and length.

Based in Meursault and farming some of the finest vineyards in the Côte de Beaune, Henri Boillot is a leading address in Burgundy. He crafts fine Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, but the estate is best known for its flagship monopole vineyard, Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Clos de la Mouchère.
