The 2008 Château De Pressac checks in as a blend of 50% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, and the rest mostly Cabernet Sauvignon. This deeper ruby-colored effort offers plenty of dark, rich black fruits, tobacco and earth in a rustic, medium to full-bodied, concentrated package. It's not the most elegant wine out there, but it packs ample fruit and richness and has the density to keep for another 7-8 years.

The 2008 Chateau de Pressac is a simple, straightforward, one-dimensional effort offering some herbaceous black cherry and currant fruit intermixed with dusty soil undertones. It is a pleasant but uninspiring wine.

Rich, fresh but not especially subtle. Pretty spicy, dense and flavourful. Well managed firm tannins. (JH)
