Opaque ruby. Deeply pitched black and blue fruit aromas are complicated by suggestions of mocha, licorice, cigar box and floral oils. Lush and broad on the palate, offering intense cassis and boysenberry flavors braced by juicy acidity. This plush, generous wine shows unlikely vivacity and finishes very long and sweet, with gentle tannins lending shape.

Tempranillo. The wine is sourced form nine different villages within Ribera del Duero. Old vines ranging from 40 to 80 years old. 3,500 kg/ha. Wild yeast and aged for 20 months in French and American oak. The winemaking is controlled by Mariano Garcia. Very ripe and intense, superior concentration showing jam, dark fruit, prunes and sweet fruit. It is really voluminous and rich with velvety and creamy tannins. Structured wine with delightful fruit character. Very convincing and superbly made. (FC)
Smells sweeter and riper than the 2013 but it is drier on the palate – makes sense with smaller berries and higher skin to pulp ratio. Powerful and dark and spicy. More power than charm. Very dry finish. (JH)
(all tempranillo, was aged for 24 months in a combination of French and American oak): Opaque ruby. Smoky, mineral-accented cherry and dark berries on the deeply perfumed nose. Palate-coating black and blue fruit flavors pick up violet pastille and mocha nuances with air. Fleshy and densely packed but lively too, finishing with noteworthy power and persistence and harmonious tannins.
