The 2008 Barolo Rocche is gorgeous. Dark plums, cherries, mocha, licorice and spices are some of the many nuances that come together in the glass. The 2008 is a dark, sumptuous Rocche endowed with lovely juiciness and terrific overall balance. Hints of French oak linger on the close. This is a very pretty Barolo that impresses for its layered, finessed personality.

Good bright medium red. Sexy aromas of red cherry, licorice, underbrush, camphor and minerals; higher-pitched than the 2007. Suave and fine-grained, with nicely integrated acidity giving shape and energy to the flavors of plum, tobacco and mocha. Broad tannins and sound acids carry the finish.
