Score 87-89/100 · Drink 2017-2028, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Apr 2015

The 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin is round, supple and nicely layered in the glass. Dark red cherry, plum, spice, leather and menthol all add to an overall impression of softness. I imagine the 2013 will drink well with minimal cellaring.

(from 60-year-old vines in Carougeot and Epointures): Good full red. Aromas of wild blackberry and violet, along with game and smoke nuances. Juicy and tightly wound for village wine, with the violet quality currently dominating the palate. Showing limited complexity today. This is aging in 70% new oak, while the other 2013s are in 100% new barrels.
