Tasting notes
This is a particularly beautiful expression of this fragrant grape because the wine has maintained some of the vintage heat without going overboard. The 2012 Collio Sauvignon Selezione is tight, tart and sharp. It shows a bright and luminous appearance that makes it shine in the glass. The bouquet is driven by mounting complexity that reveals crushed mineral, tropical fruit and sage with each swirl of the glass. You get the fine aromatic detailing of a cooler vintage with the heft and texture of a warmer one.

The 2012 Sauvignon is the most expressive of the single-variety, 'white label' bottlings. An expressive, varietal bouquet melds into white peach, sage and tomato leaf, all with vibrant saline notes that give the wine its energy. There is plenty of Collio personality here. As is the case throughout the range, the 2012 is a bit bigger than is typically the case.
About the producer

Borgo del Tiglio is one of Italy's great hidden gems. A devastating landslide in November 2025 destroyed the estate's cellars, leaving the future of the historic Ronco della Chiesa vineyard uncertain.
