Tasting notes
The yellow-golden 2012 Gewurztraminer Herrenweg de Turckheim was picked ripe but not overripe due to the cooler month of August, and fermented to dry. Clear, elegant and fresh on the deep yet subtle nose, the wine is full-bodied, round and rich on the palate, and provided with elegance and minerals as well as with an almost narcotic power (14.6% alcohol). Nevertheless, the wine is fresh and everything but broad or heavy. The powerful finish is well structured by good tannins and a firm mineral acidity.
