Tasting notes
The Meursault 1er Cru Charmes 2011 from Coche-Bizouard has a very subtle bouquet that takes time to unfurl in the glass with hints of brioche and lemon thyme. There is certainly good definition here but it needs more vigor. The palate is clean and fresh with slightly shrill acidity and a bitterness that comes through on the finish. Personally, I prefer the Goutte d’Or, but this is still satisfactory.
