Score 16/20 · Drink 2017-2022, Tamlyn Currin, jancisrobinson.com, Sep 2015

55% Merlot, 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot.  Dark crimson. Chocolate plum nose, roasted. Big and rich and swarthy. Chunky tannins hunker down over ripe dark fruit. Lots of easy charm and broad appeal and chocolate. Hint of liquorice. Mouthfilling fruit but those tannins take some grappling. Undeniably good even if it is made in a more New World idiom. GV (TC)

This blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot is looked after by the well-known proprietor of Chateau Angelus, Hubert de Bouard. It exhibits a dark ruby color, a medium-bodied mouthfeel, sweet black cherry fruit and a hint of tapenade. A strict selection resulted in only 60% of the crop being utilized. Drink it over the next 5-6 years.

The 2013 Cambon La Pelouse is gorgeous. Racy and layered on the palate, the 2013 impresses for its balance and supple, silky personality. Dark red cherries, plums, menthol, cloves and licorice flesh out on the textured finish. This is the second vintage in which Hubert de Boüard has consulted. Tasted two times.
