Score 91/100 · Drink 2021-2040, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Jan 2015

Very fresh, elegant and noble on the nose the 2013 Riesling Spätlese Tradition has a deeper but also more discreet aromas than the Kabinett Tradition, revealing its mineral flavors shyly but forcibly. The grapes were picked at 91° Oechsle and the wine ended up with 8% of alcohol and 67 grams per liter of residual sugar. Rich and juicy on the first attack this is a very mineral, piquant, concentrated and firmly structured Riesling with a salty purity in the background. Still very young, but capable of lingering and with the dramatic taste of iron on the finish. Great aging potential also due to its total acidity of almost 10 grams per liter.
