Tasting notes
Golden yellow. Superripe aromas of yellow peach, ripe pear, nut oil and menthol, along with a whiff of caramel and sweet vanillin oak. Large-scaled, plush Batard with a distinct citrus edge to its pineapple and spicy vanillin oak flavors. Finishes firm-edged but not hard, in need of time in bottle to harmonize. My bottle maintained impressive freshness after three days in the refrigerator.

Two pièces . Rich and broad and barrel chested. This one announces itself. Struts across the palate. Lots of lemon oil and richness. No great finesse but it does the business. (JR)
About the producer

Nicolas Potel is one of Burgundy’s most talented and connected winemakers. He created Maison Roche de Bellene, the négoce arm of Domaine de Bellene, in 2008, using his extensive network in the region to source top-quality fruit for an "haute couture" négociant operation.
