Lively crimson, slightly cheesy overlay. Intensely fruity underneath. Fine scent and quite subtle. Really rather fine and elegant although so much so it would be easy to overlook this wine in a line-up. Lots of fruit and concentration is buried in here even though it is still relatively unevolved. You could drink this now because the tannins are very fine, but it should be well worth waiting awhile. (JR)
Strawberries, raspberries, and jammy cherries can be found in the aromatics of the 1999 Beaune Clos Des Mouches. Medium-bodied and forward, it has a plummy, red and black fruit-flavored character.
