Rather loose – as opposed to tense – on the nose but interesting. Sweet start and then very evolved but easy to like. Very different from most in this range. (JR)

(58% cabernet sauvignon, 29% shiraz and 13% merlot) Good bright ruby-red. Rich aromas and flavors of plum syrup, mocha, coffee, menthol and chocolatey oak; smells deeper than the varietal cabernet bottling. Juicy and vinous; not a fleshy style but suave and bright, with insidious flavor intensity. Broadens out a bit toward the back, finishing with dusty tannins and hints of pepper and herbs. This may yet mellow out with a few more years in the bottle.
