Score 87-88/100 · Drink 2002-2015, Robert Parker, Feb 1999
Although the 1997 Crozes-Hermitage Raymond Roure does not possess a lot of weight, it exhibits a saturated purple color, and excellent ripe prune, plum, and blackberry fruit intermixed with roasted herbs, smoke, saddle leather, and truffles. Long and full-bodied, with excellent fatness, moderate tannin, and the potential to merit a 90-point score, this impressively-endowed wine will be at its finest in 2-3 years, and will last for 14-15.
