2005 Vosne Romanee Les Brulees

From another source with exceptional vine material, Potel’s 2005 Vosne-Romanee Les Brulees is altogether more refreshing in fruit, elegant and even more delicate than its stable mates. Aromas of black tea, forest undergrowth, and ripe black fruits lead to a palate rich in meat stock and mineral salts and with great purity and clarity of fruit, but no cuddly richness or love handles. Recent sulfuring has somewhat stunted the finish here, but make no mistake that this is going to shortly display the full complexities inherent in this site and Potel’s outstanding raw material.
