Score 88/100 · Drink 1992, Robert Parker, Jan 1990

The Clos Vougeot should be cellared until 1990-1992, when it will fully open. It has exceptionally pure Pinot fruit, medium to full body, fine depth, and plenty of tannin. The young Etienne Grivot, who now runs this estate in addition to making the wines of the Domaine Jacqueline Jayer, is one of Burgundy's most promising talents. The emphasis here is on pure, elegant, finely etched Pinot Noir fruit. The wine is never too alcoholic or tannic, but rather a prototype for the delicate style of Pinot.
