Score 84/100 · Drink 1983, Robert Parker, Jan 1998

I prefer the 1964 Pontet-Canet to the 1966 simply because of the supple, lush fruitiness and straightforward, gustatory pleasure. Browning at the edge, with virtually all of the tannin gone, this wine requires consumption. Anticipated maturity: Now-probably in serious decline. Last tasted, 5/83.
