Tasting notes
Sweet damsons and plums on the nose with oak spice. Firm, thick tannins but overall has lots of fruit sweetness and harmonious in a rich rather showy style. A fruit bomb. The acid sticks out a little on the finish. (JH)

A nicely structured wine with plenty of chalky minerality, raspberry and blueberry fruit, medium body and moderate tannin, the 2011 Soutard is still tightly-knit compared to some of its peers, but it displays excellent potential. Forget it for a few years and drink it over the following 12-15.
Darkest crimson, black core. Fragrant red fruit aroma, perhaps just a touch leafy or stemmy. Chewy and juicy fruited, the tannins a bit abrupt on the finish. The acidity sticks out a bit too. Jagged overall. (JH)
