Score 88-91/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2007

Bright red-ruby. Red cherry and crushed stone on the nose. Juicy and imploded but pure and light on its feet, with noteworthy inner-mouth energy to the perfumed red cherry flavor. Very stylish, minerally Nuits-Saint-Georges in an almost Chambolle style. Aromatic and likeable, though hardly typical for the village. Prost notes that Bouchard previously offered a negociant wine from this site but recently purchased a parcel of vines on chalkier soil, which yields a more delicate, less severe wine.

Light purple ruby. Meaty cedary freshness on the nose and peppery dark red fruit. Fine chalky tannins give a rather abrupt finish, though the fruit lingers on. (JH)
