Peach oil on the nose. Round, ripe and oily; boasts lovely purity of peach and spice flavor and good fullness for village wine, but not quite the cut of the young 2013. Seems a bit warm after my tasting of the 2013s here.

The 2012 Puligny-Montrachet Village showed just a little reduction on the nose, with attractive undergrowth notes that become more prominent with aeration. The palate is balanced but relatively simple compared to its peers, though it is partially redeemed by decent length. Drink now-2018. Importers: Massanois Imports, Washington, DC; tel. In keeping with the style of the year, the 2012 Puligny-Montrachet is rich, textured and inviting. Apricots, almonds and Chamomile wrap around the palate as the wine opens up in the glass. This is another juicy, expressive white with much to offer, especially over the next handful of years.

Bright medium yellow. Ripe peach and a saline nuance on the nose and palate. Impressively tactile, chiseled village wine with terrific cut and energy. Finishes salty and very dry. Boillot told me that the village of Puligny-Montrachet was the most affected by hail after Volnay, but this wine looks to be a major success.
